Lil Kiwi

Ok... So....

Tuesday I took Lil Kiwi in for her fifteenth or so Ultra Sound and Third VCUG... She dislikes going there and it didn't help that it was raining or that she is teething... The appointment was early in the morning and Lil Kiwi was also upset that I woke her up earlier than normal... (yes she likes to sleep in.. only wish her big brother would)

Any how... We pretty much already knew there would be no difference but one still hopes for the medical miracle... Unofficially, she still has a grade 5 reflex... Which means that her kidney is still swollen beyond normal and when you are born with only one kidney that is not good...

We get the official report when we go to her appointment next week and see Dr. V... Since he is normally booked for months (he is that good) we already had an appointment set for the second week in June for surgery... We did this oh when she was 4 months old and she will be a 1 year old at the end of June...

So, next week (on Wee Man's Birthday) we will be downtown at Dr. V's office waiting to be seen and find out what is happening... Then on Tuesday she will be having surgery...

Why, if we have had this planned for so long and knew that it was most likely going to happen, do I feel so unprepared...

  1. I don't believe anything prepares a mother for her child to have surgery. My son had surgery at 6 mos (routine in the grand scheme of things though) and it was still overwhelming. I hope y'all get the answers you need!

Thanks for stopping by yesterday! Be sure to come back for Tell Me Thursday to read about my Wordless Wednesday post :)
