Wordless Wednesday - Seedling

A few weeks ago we planted a few apple seed expecting nothing to grow. It was more a project Wee Man wanted to do. Yet......

  1. Awesome! Have you been telling him about Johnny Appleseed? He was around planting apple trees long before all these grafted trees we have now.

  4. This is so encouraging. I planted two Rainier cherry seeds I froze over the winter, and I have nothing yet. But you have given me hope something still might emerge one day...

    or maybe they are sterile...

  6. I can't remember how many times I tried to grow apple trees by throwing the seeds out in the yard, I just figured my dad was mowing them over.

  8. How great!!! Just curious - were the apples organic y any chance? I've heard that most varieties of apple seeds (many plants, actually) won't grow well, or at all, if treated with chemicals.

    Oh, and my little guy has planted a few buckeyes to see if they'll grow. I sure hope so!
