The move.... As soon as I know more about what is going on with that I will post all the yucky details. Currently, we are suppose to be moving in April but are hoping they let us extend to the end of June so that Wee Man can finish out school here. However, it's all up to the military and what they feel is best for them.
Seeing as how I haven't been getting the best of sleep this week and was in the ER for several hours; it seems that I have caught the nasty sick bug. Which isn't a surprise since this is about the same time last year that the nasty sick bug visited the family. For the better half of the weekend I have been hacking up my lungs. No really I have or at least it sure as heck felt like it because those coughing fits were horrible. When you cough so hard you throw up I'm sure that is not a good sign. No I am not going to the doctors. I am pretty sure that if DH did not make me wake up to intake fluids, I would have slept for three days straight. However, he did wake me up so it was not straight through but it was from Friday thru Sunday.
Thursday was actually decent. We ran up to the school for the IEP meeting about Wee Man's speech therapy. We have been fighting to get it him more time with the speech teacher but up until Thursday it was like talking to a brick wall. The way the system works is they bring in 4-6 students for 30 minutes total and they do speech. So, there isn't really any one to one time with the teacher and that 30 minutes includes getting out of class and back to class. Seeing as how Wee Man didn't start talking until he was just over 3 1/2 years old he needs some one to one time or more time in speech class.
Well, Thursday they reviewed his IEP and listened to what we and his teacher were concerned about for him in the future. They agree that he needs a second class and possibly some over the summer IF he needs it depending on how he does with his second class. Success in a way. Not that I want him being pulled from class (even though it's normally during play times) but if we do not do it now it might be harder for him later. Currently, few people understand him and his teacher even has trouble sometimes and this is her second year with him.
My mom called and wanted to let me know (ie. prepare me) for some bad news. Since this post is already so long I will share the story tomorrow but it looks like they might have to put down my dog I had to leave with my parents when I moved to Hawaii.
BAH.... Poop... Here's to a better week this week...
Let us recap this week....
- two visits within 24 hours at the ER with Lil Kiwi
- me hacking up my lungs
- Wee Man getting more speech class (yeah!)
- Lil Kiwi being clingy again
- DH being super awesome and letting me sleep
- found out my pup might have to be put down
- plus all the other stuff I missed while sleeping
- or forgot to write about
Wow. I hope you feel better soon, and that the rest of the family doesn't get sick. I'm glad you at least made some progress on Wee Man's IEP this week...
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your dog.
Yuck! I hope you feel better soon. Most of us were sick here too over the last week so I feel ya on the wanting to sleep for days and days! Yay for the progress on IEP! I know other families that say they struggle to get their kids help from it too. So strange that they are supposed to be there to help, but then are resistant to actually help! Good luck hun. I hope your week gets better.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your dog. I hope you strt to feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh man, if it's not one thing it's something else, isnt it? I am so sorry! I hope you will get better soon! Glad to hear about Wee Man's speech therapy success though! At least there's something positive! =)
